I am in need of recommendations for test equipment to keep the audio optimized to standard at our complex. I have a two channel Tek 465-DM44 that I need to get repaired but wonder if purchasing a newer scope and analyzer may be a better way to go. Of course the company is going to grown so keeping a eye on cost may be an issue. Perhaps used gear?

Recommendations would be appreciated.

Paul,
Unless you muind the weight of the TEK scope get it repaired!! Its by far the best poetable scope ever built. Or if you can find the B version of that scope for a reasonable price then that would be a better choice cause it uses LED's for illimunating dials and such instead of the incandescent lamps in the older 465. This place could either help you with your repair of aquiring a 465B. Your DM-44 can also be re-installed on the B model scope easily!

Analyzers... there is only one... The D-2. Other techs have their favorite pieces but the D-2 is the most arccurate of the bunch used for cinema. And its accuracy is repeatable in a given auditoruim time and time again. the D-2 also has a built in scope for doing A chains but the need for an extra scope is still there for digital work.
