Can anyone recommend some 70mm cinemas to see in Rome, Italy?

Any other must-see movie attractions in Rome?

Anything but cinemas and cinema stuff. There is 2500 years of history to see in Rome, so much that you can't even scratch the surface when you are there for a short time. You can see cinemas in many other places which don't have that much to offer. Apart from the typical sites like the Forum Romanum and Colosseum, the Vatican and the Spanish Stairs (all these were featured in many, many films, either as they are today or as reconstructions in historical dramas, so you can satisfy your nerdy side by thinking about that), my tips would be to go and see some of the Catacombs. These are massively interesting and very mysterious. There are several complexes which are all a little outside the center, but easy to reach. I went to see the Catacombs of San Calisto which were very eerie and impressive.
Well, you could also go to Cinecittà, that would actually be much less nerdy than looking at cinemas, and still film relevant. It is just outside Rome but I think there is a subway line which goes directly there. I don't know if they have any tours and stuff, but I am sure you can find out easily on the WWW.

quote:
