I'm looking at fitting failsafes and cue detectors to a pair of Phillips DP70 and a pair of Phillips DP75..

I'd like to use the FM35, as we know it well over here, and the ACOP system that will be installed is fully compatible with it, however if there is anything else available that would be an easier install on those machines, I'm interested!

Now, how to do it? On the DP75 I will have to make some kind of 'L' sectioned bracket, and attach it to the machine main plate. Not too bad I think.

On the DP70! Still scratching my head on that one. There's no room to put the FM35 in the spool box, can't see an obvious place for it in the sound head area.. All suggestions on a post card!

Before anyone asks, the DP75s do not run 70mm, the DP70s do, but the plan is to remove the FM35 when running 70, they will never be left unattended during 70mm operation.

At my theatre wehave 2 AAIIs and we have the componenet engimeering FM37. It works great. I dont know what the cost differance is though. Like the projectors it has different rollers for 35 and 70 operation.

I fitted one into the lower right hand corner of a DP70 at one point. It was weird threading though, as the film ran backwards through the failsafe, then around a roller and back towards the lamphouse underneath it. It worked fine though.
