Hi,

Is there anyone on this forum who has a DFP-2000 linked with a DCP-1000 through "SDDS-Link"? This feature doesn't work with our processors. I had a DFP-2000 with 1.10 and 2.20 Firmware, both didn't work.

My understanding is that SDDS is not providing any parts for units beyond a certain age for any reason. Thus, SDDS is passing into history.

Look for a suitable replacement. Louis

We have been replacing them with CP-650's for the most part. Its tome to let them die and have all their needless problems go away..... [thumbsup] .

Which brings up the question, are there any rumors of when the SDDS track will start disappearing from films?

I have had no problems getting parts for DFPR2000's and DFPD2000's.

Oddly enough, we too have had no problems obtaining parts for the units under our care. Oddly enough, the reliability seemed to have improved...at the end!

Parts are not a big issue as they just come from Sony Broadcast. Depending on the part the wait can be a long one.

We've pulled most 2000's out and replaced them with DA-20's or XD-10's. The 2000's were reliable till the tracks wore some and then were touch and go... no matter what projector they were set up on.

All but one of the 3000's CLACO sold remains in service. A board died in that one and the repair on the board was more than the whole unit was worth. It too was replaced with a 650.
