I'm doing a research project at Northern Illinois University on the Powers No. 6B Projector. Any information, materials, links, pat. numbers, etc... that anyone could direct me to would be greatly appreciated.

Keith

Hi Keith,
I have a complete Powers 6B setup (that may be up for sale later). Email me off list for what you need. I can email you pics if you like, Rick.
Note, the Atlas pic was moved to the Atlas thread. There is a close-up of that simplex head there.

Assuming you're talking about the one in the photo... Looks like a Standard Simplex to me, set up for picture and track. [Confused]

I was debating on whether it was a Standard or a Super. I can't see the front very good, and the door and shutter guard looked narrow, so I figured on a Standard. [Confused]

Re: last pix... now THAT'S a Powers! Looks great! There's so many of those that I just walked around for years. Wish I'd grabbed one. [Frown]

It looks like a Ballantyne Model 6 to me also along with a GE incandescent lamp.

I have the complete set of adaptors and gears for Power's #6 projector, lamp, and base to RCA 1040-70. These won't work on a PS-24 because of the motor rotation.

I have been helping the person who started this thread and will be sending him some info shortly.

Bob give me a call sometime. You should still have my number.

It's definitely not a Model 6 sound head. The Model 6 has a window half the size (the right half) and doesn't have a sprocket in the middle (it has two sprockets, one above another, about two inches from the right side panel).

Whatever it's called, I've got a few of them with XLs sitting on top of them. Maybe I'll remember on Tuesday... apparently my brain is taking the long weekend off.

Here's a pix below of a Model 6 with a Motiograph sitting on top of it from the drive-in I used to work at.. Patterned off of the SH-1000 "4-star" soundhead - Monte
