I am new to this site, and I am in search of some new equipment, are there any web sites where I would be able to directly purchase a 35mm film projector?

First place to try would be ICECO .

Some other dealers with web sites:

Jack Roe USA

American Cinema Equipment (you can actually buy equipment online (by point-n-clicking) from them!)

Many dealers and manufacturers are members of the International Theatre Equipment Association:

In 1994, the TEA became the ITEA expanding to the international arena. New members included companies in Canada, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK etc. Today, the ITEA represents more than 180 manufacturers and Cinema-related businesses across the country and around the world.

My experiencce with ICECO has been that you need to go there and see exactly what you are getting and then take it with you after you pay for it....

Aaron, Jack Roe... they are an accessories manufacturer not a dealer... they are a dealer wannabe like CPI because of the late Dave B's stupid ideas and stabbing his own dealers in the back at the same time..... Any really well run manufacturing company would refer a possible customer to one of his very reputable dealers and then expect some sort of commission in return.

Dealing with a reputable dealer thats been around for some time and has developed a good reputation is the place to go. If one is going to spend any large amount of money on either new or used and you don't go to check things out before hand then if you get the shaft you really deserve it!!

Here is another on-line directory of theatre equipment dealers and manufacturers:

http://directories.vnuemedia.com/fjiguides/equipment/

The Equipment, Concessions & Services Guide is designed to provide ready reference information on the theatrical equipment and concessions industry. It lists in comprehensive detail the company names, addresses, telephone numbers, personnel, affiliations and product of equipment and concession manufacturers and service companies, along with similar information on U.S. and foreign dealers and suppliers, arranged in alphabetical order according to state or country.
