Im rather confused about scope lens. The lens we have is built in two parts. IS the lens closest to the screen the actually scope lens and the lens that screws onto that the prime lens? The smaller lens that i think is the prime lens looks like one of the elements is completely hazed and it causes a extremely soft look to all the prints. I cleaned everything but still no luck. I cant even find a site that sells the prime lens or a price average. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Yes!

Is this an older lens or a later lens? A bit more info as to what type it is would be helpful but at least you got the first part correct.

If its an older lens then its probably trash and can't be repaired. Replace both pieces with new lenses if it is and shame on you for using old junk. If its in the 10 year old range and its made by either Schneider or ISCO then there's at least a chance that it can be repaired with the better chance going to Schneider.

Yea, I was lurking here like the guys from the Strong factory do.

Would still need more info, a photo, or in leiu of that your exact screen size(scope) and the exact throw from the trap to the screen surface measured to the nearest .001" would allow for a fairly close lens calculation. ok the nearest inch wold be ok.

Also please supply the information written on both the prime lens and the anamorphic lens. The reason for this is that "exactly right" and what-you-had can be compared so there will be no surprises. (Sometimes these old lenses are radically the wrong size.) If this is so, then you will know up-front before you do the work. These changes are rarely quite as easy as just popping in a new lens.
