I'm assuming the answer to this is yes. But currently from the factory, the fan is wired to only run when bulb is lit. It has good flow from the rooftop fan, but just wondered about the fan inside the lamphouse.

If your rooftop fan has about 600 to 900 cfm flow than don't worry about it. Its doing alot more than the paultry internal blower anyway. The roof exhaust will cool down the lamp more evenly with air being sucked in through the bottom plate louvers.

Just remember to properly maintain the internal and roof fan motors and system. The latter is probably the most neglected thing there is in a cinema.

I'm always on top of that myself. If a roof fan goes out on me, I have the service repair guy on the roof asap to fix it.

Thats all well and fine but the real idea is to not have one go out by performing proper maintainance in the first place....
