Friday night, my DTS system was not picking up the time code off of our print of Guess Who? When I checked out the the DTS code reader I found a small piece of Film-Guard saturated scotch tape on the lens. I guess the projectionist working the night before forgot to rewind the film cleaner and the tape fell onto the reader when the film cleaner ran out of media.

The moral of the story: Another reason to always rewind the film cleaner!

I found a ntoe about DTS dropping out once at our theater...Come to find out the projectionist brain wrapped a movie the day before and it pulled the upper magazine roller out of alignment creating a bounce as it rode up the flange and dropped back down again.
