just curious, has anyone ever used/come across/worked @ a theatre that owned one. I guess it just replaces what your computer can do with the SDDS software?

No, it's a setup storage unit which allows you to move the processor between auditoriums (obviously it is meant for the 2000s, if you move the 3000, then you have no analog sound anymore). It stores up to 8 different setups (mostly the EQ). I have only ever seen one. I don't know if they ever made more than this one, or maybe two.

yeah, I saw that on the SDDS site, I was just wondering if anyone had anything (maybe even a picture) of one....
