According to a source here in Sweden, Kinoton has stopped
producing projectors for e-cinema. When visiting their
website, no digital projectors can be found anymore.

Can anyone verify this?

They've still got various other digital stuff, but I can't see any projectors. I don't think they ever made any, they were selling stuff made by Barco, I think it was, under their own name. The web site is totally different, it's now only in German and English, the Russian and another language has gone, and there seem to be lots of dead links. Looks like the new site wasn't ready to go live.

Maybe the digital projectors will re-appear when the site is sorted out.

Where did your source hear that they had been dropped? Did this come from Kinoton themselves, or did somebody just notice that they were missing from the web site?

Edit.

I've just had another look at the site, and found other things that aren't right. more dead links, and if you go to the English version there are odd bits of text here and there that are still in German.

There's some new stuff; an 'A' series of low cost projectors, FP-20A and FP-10A semi-portable machine. Also a new special venue lamphouse for up to 20kW lamps!

My source heard it from a tech with connections to Kinoton.

Letīs just hope they never stop making their excellent film-
projectors!

My understanding is Kinoton has stopped marketing the kind of digital picture head that mounts to theater-style consoles. They will continue to market self-contained stand-alone digital projectors.

Meaning units for smaller screens, not large theater screens?
