Hello,
Recently I got two BX80 mechanisms along with a lot of other junk from a theatre and have plans to have one of them back to work,however both had all the external parts taken off ( sprockets,rollers,pads,etc..) still didn't open to peek inside and see what's the overall situation in the mechs.
Now I may have a chance to get another pair of BX80's, a bit more complete,except for the lamphouse tables for both pedestals that are missing,these have soundheads but doesn't seem to be the RCA heads, but suffers from the same problem of the other two I got, no sprockets,rollers and so on [Frown]
For these two,I'll have to make an offer and don't know how much they're worth.overall condition is: missing parts,cannot be tested (they're dismantled in a depot),lamp table missing for both pedestals,enarc carbon lamps. soudheads still have PEC's and doesn't seem to be any of the RCA SH's,tho they looks like hte 9030/9050. both of them are in the same situation. what should be a fair offer for them?
On another case, but I'm not sure if those two will be for sale anytime soon, a pair of BX60's ,working condition,9030SH's and xenon lamps. the theatre they're running at may close by the end of the year and switch to porn video,again, how much one should offer for the pair?

Another question is regarding parts for those projectors and soundheads;
What is still available and what is not anymore?
I mean all the parts here,from sprockets,rollers,pads to gears,shafts,hubs and so on .
I'd like to get those for me since for some reason I don't know how to explain, I like them, and also to avoid those to have the same fate that *many* other BX's had here ..
Thank you!

Umm..
that'd be nice if they pay me something to take it away.. or then give it away..but I'm afraid that I'll have to pay some $ if I want those BX's.. otherwise, they'll remain tossed around and will end in the foundry sometime soon [Frown]

You can e-mail Juan at the Wolk Company and he can give you an idea of what parts are available for them... Wolk is the ONLY source for Brenkert parts.

Charlie Wolk bought the manufacturing rights for parts in 1959. Some parts where made thereafter by Toshiba of Japan and presently two companies in India. In the early 1970's when we where installing platters, the preferred projection head was the BX-60 for the 12 - 14 hour a day movie grind cinemas.

umm.. ok,
but again, how much a pair of BX80 is worth in the conditions I described in my first post? I still didn't receive any reply from the theatre people where the projectors are.Depending on what they say I may end giving up (*sigh*) on them and go ahead with the other two mechs I got,dismantle them,sort out parts,try and get the missing stuff and have one back to work.
For the BX60,I talked to the ower today and even if he closes the theatre and switchs to porn video, he won't sell the projectors,buh.. [Frown]
Hey Mark, did you get my email?? [Smile]
