I'm amazed by a somewhat local competitor that constantly gets weird scratches on their prints. These scratches appear somewhat horizontally with a slight bow from one side to the other. Usually on one side of the film, but sometimes dead center across the entire surface, but always curved appearing. I was just wondering if anyone knows how anybody can get this type of scratch on their trailers/prints? What is the film hitting inside the projector???? [Confused]

Sounds like platter scratches to me. That happens on take up as the film rubs against the edge of the platter. Apparently many lower class theaters feel that this enhances the presentation.
