I noticed that Turner Classic Movies has an interactive web-site.

What is the concensus of F-T members bombarding their site with Film-Done-Right messages, as well as educating them about what is going on in the large-format rivival.

Spreading the F-T word and trying to put a dent in the bean-counter lawyer-cinema chain owner's lack of quality!

Turner did an excellent little short on letterboxing.

So why exactly would a cable tv station care about how well films are presented in cinemas? Their ratings are higher because people are waiting for video.

And what large format revival?

When you are dissatisfied with presentation quality, complain immediately to the theatre's manager, especially if it is something that can be remedied immediately (e.g., misframing, refocusing, wrong format, etc.). Thank them afterward if the problem is immediately corrected.

Chronic problems should be reported to the theatre's manager, with copies "up the chain of command" including the VP of Operations and/or VP of Engineering or Projection for the circuit. Be specific with your complaint, including details of what was wrong, the theatre, screen number, date and time. Demanding a cash refund "stirs the pot" more than accepting a pass, but don't expect a refund or any credibility if you watched the whole movie.

If you are particularly pleased with presentation quality, report that too!

Boxoffice Magazine publishes a list of senior management and addresses for the 50 largest theatre circuits in North America:
