MXL XENON LAMPS, DESIGNED FOR OPTIMAL CINEMATIC PERFORMANCE,
TO DEBUT AT SHOWEST 2004

Longer-life and industry leading quality control guarantee to illuminate new cinema product.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA - (March 22, 2004) – MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES (MiT), a US-based manufacturer and integrator of leading-quality presentation equipment and display technologies for the cinema industry, announced today the production and worldwide distribution of a new range of short-arc xenon lamps specifically designed for cinema exhibition. Engineered to meet the demands of the most technologically-advanced presentation equipment, the MXL Series lamps carry a lifelong warranty that is backed by OEM Superior Quartz Products, a leading US manufacturer of specialty light products since 1957.

Dennis Losco, CFO and Director of Sales for Superior Quartz Products stated, “The MXL series lamps carry the highest warranties in the business. Theater owners like to know that when they put a lamp into a projector they are not going to have a problem on a Saturday night when the theater is full of patrons. Superior’s lamps are high-quality lamps that produce long, stable light throughout the life of the product.”

The MXL Series brings together the cinema industry expertise of MiT’s founders with Superior Quartz Products’ 60 years of fine workmanship and production of quality lighting products. Working closely with Superior Quartz to develop the new product line, MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES suggested industry-specific enhancements to the lamp design and manufacturing process with the needs of exhibitors in mind. The result of the collaboration, the MXL Series, is a high-quality, long-lasting product at a competitive price.

Joe Delgado, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES concurred, “This dedicated product range further strengthens MiT’s commitment to provide cost-effective, quality products that serve the specific needs of our (exhibitor) customers.”

The MXL Series is distributed worldwide by MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES.

MOVING iMAGE TECHNOLOGIES will showcase the new series of Xenon lamps in booths 1726, 1728, 1729, 1731, 1828 and 1830 at the ShoWest 2004 conference and exposition, March 23 - 25 at Bally’s Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

Can you speak more about the "industry-specific enhancements to the lamp design and manufacturing process with the needs of exhibitors in mind"? How do the MXL lamps materially differ from the Superior Quartz lamps?

"Materially" they are identical. However, there are things we have learned over the years with Xenon lamps in cinema applications that will make this already great product better in this application and help Superior avoid some of the pitfalls that other lamp manufacturers have come across.

So Bevan,
Whos making these lamps for you? Its nice to have the past experience you do and to incorporate all the knowledge base into these lamps. Also, assuming that these are manufactured for you, have you field tested these to any degree yet and what results did you see?

Maybe mentioning Superior's name five times in the press release and John's follow-up question wasn't sufficient. [Smile]

See you in Vegas.

??? You just started the company, and half the products is rebranded stuff from other manufacturers. A little bit more modesty would be in order here and also leave a more sincere impression.

How does it compare to a Kinoton PK-60? How does peeling the nameplate off make the image steadier and sharper?

Mike,

What about all the new theaters that go up with shit equipment, yet claim "state-of-the-art projection and sound technology"?

A little hype is OK, everyone does that. But for me there is a difference between "we are a new company and we have set out to bring you the best newly developed and integrated equipment in the galaxy" (or something like that) and "we are a leading manufacturer" which is simply not true (at least yet). We are talking about very expensive equipment, not about vacuum cleaners.
Apart from that, I am actually looking forward to seeing the equipment in Vegas, as we will be building several theaters in the next 2 years.

BTW, I am a leading manufacturer of cars now. This is the Mikey P-1. Materially it is the same as a Porsche, but my collected experience of almost 2 decades behind the wheel went into it.

I'm missing something here. What is the point of sticking a different label on a projector? Is there a price differential? So someone can do one stop shopping? That can be done anyway since folks buy from dealers, not manufacturers.
