Author Topic: Creating a User Format on CP650 Steve Kraus Film God Posts: 4094 From: Chicago, IL, USA Registered: May 2000 posted 01-20-2004 10:28 AM                    I screened a film whose track was Left - Right, non-Dolby, non-matrix and I set up a user format on my CP500 to handle this. I tried Lt-Rt direct but eventually settled on Non Sync decoding to put a bit of ambience in the surrounds. I'd like to give the local venue opening this film step by step directions on how to set this up but I believe they have 650's. Anyone care to give a list of steps applicable to this CP? It would need to be precise down to every key press and knob twirl. Thanks. Here are the steps for the 500: MENU Format Configuration Build Custom Format (wheel) choose a user format number OK Copy From Existing Format (wheel) 05 Dolby Stereo SR OK NR type--> NR channels L&R (wheel) NO NR OK --------- the following is unnecessary but good for peace of mind NR Channels Ls & Rs (wheel) NO NR OK NR Channels C & Sw (wheel) NO NR OK end of unnecessary steps ----------- BACK More--> Opt Decode Config Decode Mode (wheel) Lt Rt Direct OR non sync OK EXIT (Save?) OK Build Format Selector Assign Formats (push the button where you want this format located on the main screen. choose an otherwise unneeded button) (wheel) Select the user format # you chose at the start OK FORMATS (save?) No custom formats are available on that POC!
