Is anybody ICIA CTS certified. I was looking into Christie's Install and service certification program, and they recommend that you get this certification first. Has anybody heard of it, and if so is it of any real use in our industry? Also where would I go to find information on getting this certification? Also has anybody gone through the Christie classes, and if so are they worthwhile? Thanks in advance for any information.

ICIA-CTS courses are an industry standard in the audio visual field; other trade groups such as NSCA ( national sound contractors association ) and CEDIA have their version for standardizing the basic skills for people who do installations. The courses are short and are given year round and are a good reference point in picking up skills without going through the sales hype that you sometimes get by a factory sponsored training sessions. The next ICIA session is December 7th. Go to the ICIA website and look for the tool bar for ICIA-CTS to learn more. Get ready for the future installing Digital Cinema [Big Grin] ..
