Looking through the Showest trade show pictures I noticed several shorts of what appears to be a Chinese portable 35mm projector very much like Steve Krams' portable Westar's in appearance. The booth also aluded to portable xenon 16's from the same mfr. The only name I could see was "Jinay", which doesn't ring any bells with me. Anybody know what outfit that is or anything about their products?

The portable 35mm which there are two models ( 750 watt and 1000 watt ) direct from the manufacturer - Shaghai Harvest - which distributes through several suppliers such as ICECO. there is also a 2000 watt model of this machine as a portable from Proyecson, Valancia, Spain. The projector company has been manufacturing this unit since the 1950's and their are thousands in operation. Jinay optical and Machine Works makes 16mm halogen, 400 and 1000 watt xenon projectors, in addition to 16mm/35mm projection lenses and photoware such as fluid tripods. The 16mm is a very nice machine and will probably get more of the tiny market share that Elmo and Eiki are giving up.
