I was going around replacing all my burnt out platter lamps tonight. One of them blew as soon as I inserted it, and it blew the platter fuse as well. I pulled the burnt lamp out (I had to pull the base of the lamp out with pliers, platter unplugged of course) and put a new fuse in. That fuse blew as soon as I plugged in the platter. Figuring that there's a short somewhere in the lamp holder, I disconnected the wires to it. When I put a new fuse in this time nothing happened. I reconnected the lamp houlder and the fuse blew again. Help!!!

It sounds like you damaged the lampholder when you tried to change lamps while the power was on (bad practice). Likely some arcing occured across the contact insulator, or the contact connections moved and shorted together. You need to replace the lampholder. Since the fuse is blowing right away, it should be a relatively obvious short.
