It's refreshing to work with a product that performs as advertised. Film Guard is such a product.

We recently pulled our prints of "Pirates..." from our indoor and drive-in theatres. Both prints ran on projectors with dedicated cleaners on them. I think that 10 weeks is a record for any single feature... at least in the 17 years we've owned our drive-in.

The indoor house had 230 runs on its print. The drive-in didn't run its print that much. However, we had one of the driest Summers on record, and people driving across the fields kicked up an enormous amount of dust. The media rolls reflected ambient conditions.

In both cases, the prints came off the platters looking like new... no scratches or discernable wear. We could swap the prints and not know which theater they ran in. I wouldn't have doubted we could have run either of those prints another 10 weeks.

Film Guard's effect on the quality of our projected image is another matter, though equally as positive as what it's done for the longevity of our prints. It's generated comments from our customers, without them really understanding what they're complimenting.

Like those "booster boxes" we use to jump-start cars at the end of the night... this is one product I hope makes its inventor filthy rich.

Thanks, Brad!

...(guess this should have gone in "film handlers"... didn't notice until I posted it... oops!)
