I put together a print of "Charlie", a film about Charlie Chaplin for a film festival showing. It appears to have been made from a video. The opening logo even says Warner Video. The content of Chaplin clips is at best poor quality. Interview footage varies from OK to good. Most of it looks like video with even some line jitter on the titles in the Chaplin clips. One of the last reel changes is done in mid sentence.

They actually struck 35mm prints of this? We screened a DV copy of it at the Wine Country Film Festival last month.

Something like that is incredible unfortunate because it makes people believe that that is what the old movies looked like.

We ran Charlie on Sunday for 2 shows. Moderate but OK attendance. Monday and tonight (Tuesday), nobody showed up.
