Has anyone ever used a payout card for the takeup in an emergency?? The only difference that I can see in the two is that the LED is turned a different way. Could you drill screw holes and turn the led to the correct position?
Just curious.

Yes, although I don't remember having to physically alter it. You should plug in into your laptop/pc and run the wee program so that it knows it's now a payout.

I think you need a factory test jig in order to "change the unit type" in the DMC computer software program. It's easier on the SCDC model that replaced the DMC. You can only do certain things on a DMC card depending on which version you have. There's a red circle sticker on the black plastic cover of the DMC control with a number on it. That number (such as "05") is the version number. Only version 6 and version 7 allow changing of the unit type.

Ah, you're probably right there. It's the SCDC model I've worked on.

You guys must think I work for Cinemark, I can't afford a laptop.

I just send the DMC cards back and get an SCDC to replace it.
