Did any of You guys run this latest version of "Close Encounters". A single (fairly new) print is on tour in Denmark this summer, looking - and sounding as stroke from 16mm material.

Already the Columbia logo make You throw Yourself back in the seat, when hit by the grain, and dts sounds like pulling a cat by its tail - namely the music of the last scenes do not keep the speed correct. Have we just been plain unlucky, or is this what they show up with all over the world ? (Same screen running "Chicago" as first show, sounding perfect).

I ran a 16mm print of this title in 1997. It was pretty decent looking.

Good color, and sharp to boot!

The last time I ran "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was a beautiful 70MM Studio Print. [thumbsup]
