The reflector in my lamphouse, while functional, looks a bit dull. I know that Ultraflat offers some sort of re-coating service but does anyone have any idea what the cost would be for a reflector from a Cinemeccanica CX1600 vertical lamphouse? If the results are good, is there a comparable service offered in the UK? Alternatively, what kind of price would I expect to pay for a good used reflector for this lamphouse?

Thanks

David

That lamphouse uses a glass hot reflector so probably you could get it resilvered at a mirror manufacturer
Ultra Flat I believe only does metal reflectors.
Also there is a relatively cheap version of that reflector available from Japan if memory serves through Marble or CPI

Cheers

David

Actually a thought occurs to me..has anyone ever manfactured a metal version of this type of reflector? I'm thinking if so they'd be cheaper...right?!!

Metal reflectors would probably cost more as they are usually made of electro deposited nickel and then coated with rhodium or aluminum
Normal metal would discolour and tarnish with the heat
