Author Topic: Lamphouse Repairs Steve Anderson Expert Film Handler Posts: 168 From: Nashville, TN Registered: Feb 2000 posted 02-10-2003 08:48 PM                        Ok here goes.... I got a call Saturday night about the lamp not striking; I arrive and find the following. One of these had come lose from the circuit board and caused a short, which burnt away two parts of the tracing on the board. I had to remove all 4 to get to the one that was lose. I could not see any visible damage so I cleaned up all the old solder joints and remounted them. I bypassed the trace with new wiring and put everything back together.The lamp struck and there has not been any problems. But I do have a few questions….what the hell was I working on! Do you call this the striker? or igniter coil? I also need to find out where I can replace the circuit board or I guess the whole unit. The lamphouse is a Cinemecannica X4000 with a vertical mounted bulb. Don’t give me too much grief about not knowing the proper name…. I am still learning. Also I had the theater owner looking over my shoulder the whole time.
