Author Topic: DTS6AD v1.08 Antonio Marcheselli Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1260 From: Florence, Italy Registered: Mar 2000 posted 12-28-2002 06:27 PM                        Hi Everyone I was reading DTS june's technical Notice about version 1.08 for DTS 6AD. I do not manage a 6AD, I was reading them just to be updated and for curiosity. I've read this paragraph: "Modified the way the unit edits when reading bad timecode. The unit will now wait two seconds before edit are performed. The only exception is when the TC OFFSET value is being changed". What does it mean? More, I've read that now 6AD units make DTS decoding by software, they don't need APTx chips? Interesting!! With old software, the DTS-6AD would drop out immediately. You might have to hold the reset button too... can't quite remember, it's been awhile. These were the current versions as of the opening of SWEP2: CPU V1.06 DSP controller V1.03 DSP firmware V1.10 The DSP controller is a socketed IC, ditto (IIRC) for the CPU. The firmware is updated by the update CD.
