Recently I have had to repair several of the Entre Electronics model D100C single slide projector fader/dissolve units that are used with Kodak slide projectors without built-in timers or lamp fade capability. The symptoms are erratic operation i.e. sometimes they work, sometimes not. Sometimes they just stay on the same slide and then if you bang on the metal case the unit starts working again (but only for a little while).

I have found most of the problems have been caused by cold solder joints at the two vertically mounted "Delay" and "Rate" trimpots. Same goes for the "Timer On-Off" switch, too. While I have the circuit board out to resolder those connections, I also resolder the relay in there.

These units have been pretty reliable and the cold solder joints have been the only problems I have come across. Haven't had any component failures yet.
