Before I go to Orlando I want to mention that a new company "Kinoton America" has been formed to distribute Kinoton product in North America. BL&S has been doing this for about 6 years, and its been so sucessful we decided to set up a seprate corporation to focus just on Kinoton. (Of course this also lets BL&S focus on its rental, design and sales projects.) Now there are more people dedicated soley to helping Kinoton customers, a new exclusive distribution arrangement, new ads and lots of new products. We have some very good people on board (for instance John Gallucci, Ernie Tracy, Clyde McKinney)and more on the way (look for a suprise at ShowEast!). Anyway, I didn't want anyone seeing the new name at the show to think some negative thing had happened, or that BL&S was "fired", or something. See you in Orlando?

Awesome!! I have used Kinton projectors in the past (FP-23C and PK-60D) and they rock! If I were in the Boston area I would inquire about employemtn. Man, I sure wish I could go to Show East. Who wants to buy me a ticket? Seriously, I am glad to hear the news about the new company.

I don't think many are aware of this so I thought I'd pipe in here.
Kinoton will re-grind your DP-70 curved runners to better than new condition. The charge for this is very reasonable considering that a new 35mm runner is well over a grand!

With the continuous curve? 70mm too?

Background:
The originals go flat in the aperture area because the lenses of the day were not designed for curved gate projection. Sometimes, particularly under high heat conditions, the film doesn't know whether to follow the runner or stick to the curvature created by the upper and lower parts of the runner and ends up fluttering. The continuous curve eliminates this problem. I've seen this done with a custom machined runner for 35mm and also done via an adapted Century JJ runner for 70mm which I think Mark is familiar with.
