BIG SKY Industries is releasing a new Pay-Out Head sensor assembly for the P3350 Platters, which addresses the problem of erratic speed, failure to hold adjustments, differences of operation from deck to deck, and slow operation. This problem is caused by the inconsistencies in the sensors we purchase for the Pay-Out Head speed sensor.

The new sensor assembly mounts in one location, eliminating the need to slide this assembly to adjust for best operation. A new adjustment on the sensor circuit board is now used to set starting position. The result is more speed, smoother operation, and more consistent operation.

Thanks!

By registering and being present here, we hope again to make ourselves available to the industry in this format and forum, rather than hearing from customers "second hand". Any questions or comments, let us know!

As for the platter, we are always trying to improve and address problems. We feel this new sensor assembly should help alot.

Hello, Dan,

I am happy, both as a booth engineer and a happy Big Sky Owner, to see your company represented here.

Please note, however, that the posts here are not necessarily from the persons responsible for maintenance of the equipment they operate and maybe their booth supervisors are not aware of the comments made here.

C'mon in, the water's fine.

KEN

Ken,

Very true.
I am active on another bulletin board, un-related to cinema, and know quite well that each and every post is an opinion only of the person who posted it, and not fact or gospel. If all of us beleived everything posted here to be totally true, accurate, and final, we'd all hate each other, and nobody would buy anybody's equipment!!!!!

Just the same, the information is usefull, and one can get a feeling from reading the posts. Even complaints are looked at to help with product development...

How do I say this politely ...

In many instances, the person operating multiple units of a particular piece of equipment will know more about that equipment than a circuit technician who sees it every once in a while. Especially on equipment that is new to the market.

Ken, you stopped just short of offending a lot of competent operators and projectionists out there who have used such equipment and reported problems. While you may not have experienced these problems with said equipment, it does not mean that the problems don't exist and that the operators are abusing the equipment. The facility using 18 or 20 pieces of equipment are certainly more prone to find problems than the operator who can devote all of his attention to just one or two.

Thank you, Dan, for getting the word out on the upgrade. I'm sure our circuit tech will be contacting you regarding our 18 units if he hasn't already.

This forum is intended I believe to be an open forum with out superviosor politically correct views only being posted.
Rarely is abuse of equipment the real flaw and this forum should serve as a source of debugging for manufacturers that may have a problem

Also I usually give credance to problems reported in large plexs as that is where products must work reliably with minimaly trained staff

In my situation, I work as a "team" with our tech services. As they have over 100 screens, in 5 different cities around the state to keep watch over, they ALLOW me, maybe becasue they trust me, to help them in finding answers to problems that we are having in the booth. I try my best that we are the best at what we do here. Not giving our guests the best possible show, due to me not helping find a solution to a problem, because I have to wait to get "permission" is unexcusable. We don't deal with the "ME" thing here. Its US, as a total team working together to "DO FILM RIGHT!!" and give our guests the best we can at all times.

Nuff said.

P.S. Dan, you ever thought about sending out questionaries to the operators to get feed back and ideas on how to better your products? I know I have a few ideas...
