Today I experienced a strange problem on a 500 with VER 1.31 software. I had downloaded all the data to a .dmp file as normal, and saved the file as LH3.dmp for the theatre number and location. I changed out the CAT 684 main Computer which was acting up intermittently, tried to load all settings back in but the indicator on the front panel of the 500 would only go halfway across and stop, however the computer said the load was done even though this this was not so.

A call to Norm @ Dolby about this turned up a similar problem he had experienced but no real solution. We tried everything over the phone he and I could think of to no avail. Thinking that perhaps the saved file was possibly corrupt I downloaded it again from the old 684. Same results the second time. Ok, went in to note pad to see that all the file was really there and it was. About 22kb in size.
My solution for now was to move the EPROM's from the old 684 to the new one and all is fine.
Was curious if anyone else has had this problem before?

Mark

You're right, thats a typo. Should be ver 1.31 and it is now corrected. The new 684 did come with 1.61 on it although I've had big problems with that version defaulting to factory settings from power spikes. The need to re-load the data to the new card was to get it up and running again as quickly as possible, as well as to preserve all the custom formats they had created when they were originally installed
Thanks pete!
