We have this old Xebex IV lamphouse, which we don't have manual for. What is the "Lamp test" switch for? It says "Full" and "Half". Is that full for during operation and and half for the time that it is not in use? Does that mean we have to leave the both the lamphouses on during the entire time for dual projector operation? Is it not better to switch it off after changing over to the other projector? Also, where can I get a manual for this lamphouse?

Someone help

The Xebex allowed, if the rectifier was capable of doing, to drop the output of the xenon lamphouse ( simmer mode ) for the projector not on the screen. It was more important years ago when bulbs where more expensive and equipment less reliable. If you are running 20 minute reels you may receive longer bulb life but you also have to consider electrical power costs and equipment wear.

On the panel of the lamphouse should be 3 switchs usually marked on off
full standby and auto manual (some were done differently

The auto one allowed a full/standbye power to switch on a microswitch on the dowser of which some were electrically operated
If you have the Sanrex rectifier with the lamphouse it allows the switching of the lamp to approximately 1/2 power between reels

This is a nice feature as you can spare the lamp unecassary ignition pulses that way.
There is usually a screwdriver adjustment pot on the panel of the rectifier near the meter to set the standby current and the knob on the lamphouse selects the full current
Standby current should be at least 1/2 the operating current to maintain a stable arc.
