Author Topic: Dolby DRAS software Mike Babb Master Film Handler Posts: 250 From: Norwich UK Registered: Jul 2002 posted 08-11-2002 02:40 PM                        I was talking to someone who had problems running the software on a new laptop(not sure if it was ME or NT or whatever) but it would run fine on an older one with Windows 98. Does anyone know the compatability of this program with versions of Windows? If this has been discussed before feel free to point me there...thanks! In the properties section of the program there is a section that will allow you to change and run the program as if it was using a different OS program like 98 or 2000. WINDRAS will bog down lesser puters but offers nifty recording options if you want to demonstrate a problem. The program accesses the hardware (such as the serial port) directly and XP does not allow that. I don`t think it will in compatibility mode either. The SDDS setup software has the same problem. WinDRAS on the other hand runs very well under XP on my notebook. I wonder why it`s not available for download from film-tech, when practically all the other Dolby stuff is.
