When I heard that the theatres must have digital sound in order to get star wars, I thought that was kinda stupid...Until we got our new Dolby CP500 unit. It replaced an old dolby analogue(cp 50) system. What a difference. The is sound better than our DTS theatre.

There are several local theatres that have no digital sound playing SW right now. He must not be super strict on that rule.

Yep. There's no way to guarantee digital sound on all screens of a major release, especially one with a 6,000 print inventory. At least one of the three prints playing at the Central Mall 12 here in Lawton is analog stereo. And chances are the staff aren't even firing up their two DTS systems for it either (they've had the standard practice of not doing it in the past).

hmmm...I must have misunderstood what my manager was saying. Cause our owner is cheap, so something must have motivated him to go out and replace the sound.

Daniel ... perhaps your DTS auditorium needs attention to it's B-chain if it doesn't sound as good a Dolby Digital on your new processor.

Only analog stereo in our local low budget 6-plex, and they're running it!

Matt, thanks, I'm sure it does need attention. I've heard stories of how it was originally wired up wrong when they first installed it. Anyway, i'll mention that to our tech next time he's up our way.

The question then is, who is playing it in mono?
