My SDDS DFP-2000 isn't working, on the processor the projector 1 light keeps blinking. What does this indicate? This has never happened before and the heads were serviced in January.

Thanks.

If memory serves, a steady light means everything's OK. A flashing light means there's a "trouble" indication in the reader and a light gone out indicates loss of communication with the unit.

Shut the power off to the whole system. Undo the cable between the processor and the reader and reconnect it. Make sure it's connected correctly and that it's properly tightened. Do this on both ends. (At the reader and the back of the processor.)

After that, if you still get the flashing light, I think you have a hardware problem somewhere. Without seeing the unit in person, It's hard to tell exactly what's wrong. You'll need to have it worked on, though.

A flashing projector light indicates that the reader is not plugged in! Please note, the SDDS (and Dolby Digital) readers can NOT be hot-plugged without a high probability of damage to the electronics.
