Help?I have a wonderful Italian made guiotine splicer for my 16mm films but I was recently given a 35mm splicer and I am not sure how it works. I know how to align the film properly and cut it but what is that extra arm for that sticks out to the right? It has a rubber pad on it, does the splicing tape go on that arm or is that just to flatten out the splice. Help me obi-wan-filmtechs, you are my only hope.
Thanks.

A good place to start would be the "Splicing Tips" in the "Tips" section of Film-Tech.

Do you have the instruction manual for your splicer? What model is it?
