Author Topic: Cue Alternatives Mathew Molloy Master Film Handler Posts: 357 From: The Santa Cruz Mountains Registered: Nov 2000 posted 12-09-2001 01:48 AM                     During my six years working the Seattle International Film Festival, the most frustrating and painful thing was coming across pieces of pins, nails, paperclips, whatever taped to the film near the reel changes. My first thought is that it was poor man's cue tape, but I'm also wondering if it was used as a audible cue? Anyone else ever come across this? It was usually on films shipped over from China. My main concern was this crap getting into the projector. Whatever it was it was no fun inspecting film and getting a chunk of safety pin lodged into your thumb or forefinger!  |  IP: Logged Bill Enos Film God Posts: 2081 From: Richmond, Virginia, USA Registered: Apr 2000 posted 12-09-2001 08:52 AM                     Sounds more like stupid peoples audible cues to me. Audible cues can be made by placing 3 (or whatever it takes) strips of CLEAR tape across the film several inches apart.
