DTS will not have a booth or demo room at Show East this year due to the current world situation. Some of our sales team will be in attendance.

BUT - we will be in full force at ShoWest this March in Las Vegas.

DTS is also having a training seminar at ShowEast but it may already be full up. I know I'm looking forward to it.

We got a fax indicating that was cancelled also.

BTW, I wonder if attendance will be low.

Larry,

I've been out of town for a bit so I might not have seen the fax...if so...too bad...we already booked our airline and hotel reservations based on the DTS seminar.

I have a few disappointed clients who are unfazed to travel to the USA....since Orlando has made this show more International than (ugh) Atlantic City....Since September 11 I have logged 6000 air miles....I know it is a personal decision since we are in a "unnecessary" business but life has to go on....for people visiting Orlando, in addition to this tradeshow, LDI will be at the convention center, a large theatre, staging, production show.....so cheap rooms, flights, two tradeshows, et cetera....come on down....

Ian Price will be at ShowEast, so attendance should be very high from people showing up just to see him.

Indeed I will be there. I have no fear of terrorists, Anthrax or bad food. This will be my second big trip since the attack and I have more scheduled. Now that the attack has scared certain people from travel, I get more legroom on airplanes and I get cheaper hotel rooms. Since the attack, I feel inspired to buy stocks, purchase a home, buy a car and travel to Europe and the Far East. Unfortunately, I am still saddled with my pitiful salary so I will contend myself with a big trip to Orlando. I am looking forward to riding Kraken and seeing Shamu and Klondike and Snow at Seaworld. At Show East there are film showings every day, so I will get a head start on my holiday film viewing. I have no real reason to go to Show East, but since my business partner was missing in action part of the summer this will be recompense in some small way. Besides we need a fresh infusion of schwag for our Christmas gift giving to the Staff. Between Show East, ShoWest, two NATO meetings, The Telluride Film Festival and others we usually amass a tremendous schwag pile for the staff. Besides, travel is good for the soul.

See you in Orlando.

I feel many companies are using the Sept. 11 attack as an excuse to cut back on expensives.

I'm NOT saying DTS is doing this.

But I have noticed several companies cutting out any extraneous costs, particularly if they were financially hurting before Sept. 11. Mostly financial and tech sector type companies. They don't want the "market" to think they are weak, so use Sept. 11. as a way to save without admitting anything.
