Does anyone know if Otto Preminger's THE CARDINAL and Frank Borezage's THE BIG FISHERMAN were actually shot in 65/70mm?

The Big Fisherman was the first movie filmed in (flat) Panavision 70 (later known as Super Panavision 70). THE CARDINAL was filmed in 35mm anamorphic Panavision and has sometimes been listed as the first blow-up from an anamorphic negative.

I have a document from SMPTE ("Widescreen Motion-Picture Systems" 1965) that states: "Panavision's spherical 65mm process is similar to Panavision 35 except spherical lenses are used instead of anamorphic. This process produces an aspect ratio of 2.25:1 with 4 channel sound and an aspect ratio of 2:1 with 6 channel sound. It is currently in use on Rowland V. Lee's production of The Big Fisherman."

Although, I feel that the actual specifications of many of these "special" processes changed "on-the-fly" like slight differences in camera image dimentions/aspect ratios, etc.

Well, actually, there was a MAJOR difference between the two formats, considering one had a negative frame size somewhere around 3 and a half times the other. SMPTE projection standards for 70mm flat projection at 2.2 to 1 and 35mm anamorphic (at the time) at 2.35 to 1.
