Something strange the other day. I was rolling up a coming attractions tag and it says both eastman and fuji on it. The color is really good on it even though it is old. How can eastman and fuji both be on the same piece of film along the edges?

Simple the negative was one brand and the print stock was the other. THe printer light often includes the outer edges

The ID on current print films is colored magenta on both Kodak and Fuji print stocks. Kodak now has a very complete ID number to track the exact film batch and equipment it was made on.

The print-through from the negative will be light letters against a darker background, and vary in color depending upon how it was printed. Kodak camera films have "KeyKode" to aid film editing and cutting:
