Hello Again,
After checking in Film-Tech Website I've seen that the films that arrive in U.S theaters come in can boxes on reels. In Cyprus though we receive the film either in plastic cans or no cans, and the film is winded up on cores instead of reels. Is this happening all over Europe or is it just my country? Also when we prepare the film, since few cinemas are going to be showing we prepare it a bit different than what you in U.S do. We label the reels with small round labels 1,2,3 e.t.c so when we break down the film it's easy to locate since we are using large reels instead of platters. We also put small labels on each trailer. We do not put back the head and foot leaders though since we label each reel with labels. Does this happen only in Cyprus?
Thank you
Demetris Thoupis

Every year we run a festival of first run French films shipped directly from distributors in France, those films always come on cores in fragile plastic or metal cans. I have found from the French professor who goes to screenings of major releases there that is the norm in most of Europe.
