I had a little accident in the booth on Friday and stupidly shattered the curved door glass on an old Simplex X-L. I'm posting here to get a thread going about locatiing names, adresses, phone / fax numbers for dealers who might have some antique parts for machines still in use. My official request for the glass, however, is in the "Equipment Wanted" forum, so Brad please don't lock this and send it somewhere else. If anyone has an idea about what to use as a replacement piece on the door then please post. If you have glass and want to part with it, e-mail me directly.

I take it you are stuck on having glass rather than the current plastic variety? It will fit but will say Simplex 35 in Red letters rather than white.

I would try a good versatile glass company, if your city has one. Sometimes it's truly surprising what they can do. I've obtained beveled glass, clock glass replacements, etc. Failing this, go for an "official" plastic replacement. Hear what you're saying and was me I'd try real hard for the glass.

Good Luck!
