An old stage hand visited the booth a few days ago and commented on how similar in appearance the lamphouse of the carbon arc Super Trouper and the Peerless Maagnarc are. Is that coincidence or are they related?

Magnarcs were made by Strong for a while, that would surely explain the similarity...

The super trouper lamphouse started off as the simplex 1Kw that was a version Strong made for Simplex of the Strong !kw Utility arc. They also made one for Motiograph
The Peerless Magnarc was developed long before it by The Mcauly (don't have the correct speeling handy) manufactureing company
He apparently wanted a large lamp that was easy to clean. He also built the famous HyCandescent that was basically the iolder Hall and Connoly redesigned
