There is a pretty good web site called www.cinematour.com that has a lot of pictures and information about open and closed theaters.

The International Motion Picture Almanac
has a list of all theatres by state and by circuit. Covers both hard top and drive-in in the United States and Canada. In addition to circuits it covers independent theatres as well

That book by quigly down in the dumpster sucks. I bought one for myself and my tech, it was missing so many theatres. But it dose have a lot of info in it. Nato puts out a yearly encyclopedia that has member theatres in it.

The Cinematour site seems fairly comprehensive. It even includes the two theatres I worked at in Angola, NY.

Obviously, with information being voluntarily supplied by readers, there may be some inaccuracies.
