Are any other Film-Tech participants planning on attending the ITEA (International Theatre Equipment Association) Seminar Series in Los Angeles (Universal City Hilton), January 8-10?

I just received the tentative schedule of events, and it looks like an interesting agenda, with presentations on theatre standards, audio basics, screen contrast, digital cinema, loudspeaker and acoustic design, Phone THX, and the Christie DLP and Sony GLV digital projectors.

Registration fee was $300, but I don't know if they are sold out. For more information, contact ITEA at 212-246-6460.

Hi John;
I'll see you there and hope to attend most of the meetings, although I am also going to the NIST Convention later in the week.

Looking forward to seeing you there and hearing your talk.

Happy New Year!

Pat

Pat --- it will be great to see you again, along with anyone else from Film-Tech who attends.

BTW, I'm not giving a presentation this time around. I presented the "Scope 1.5X" paper and film demonstration at the SMPTE Technical Conference in Pasadena on October 20. The increased light efficiency of the format certainly was obvious on the screen.

Pat:

Where will the NIST convention be held? They are in our town (my old college profs actually worked there)

If I lived a little closer, there would be no question. It sounds fascinating and I'd be there in an instant.

When I finally get around to visiting the US, I will certainly make sure I include something like this as part of my trip.
