For all of the problems technicolor has, I do like their managed print movement. For example, this weekend I'm opening "Sunshine." As of right now, I have no clue where my print is coming from. With technicolor, all I would need to do is call their 800 number and they could tell me exactly when my print would be here, how it was getting here, and where it was coming from. However, I called my ETS depot in Minneapolis, and the move is not going through them. I need to contact Paramount, through my booker, to find out details. At least with Technicolor, I could eliminate the middle man and call them myself.

...and after waiting on hold for two hours they inform you that the *only* available print of "Highlander:Endgame" that you are finally playing three weeks after it opened is still sitting on a platter in a megaplex in Ventura,CA and you won't get possession of it until 10pm FRIDAY NIGHT...

The above is a true story.

At least with ETS via Theatre Transit I get my print on WEDNESDAY afternoon, usually before 5PM!!

Screw Technicolor!

The only good thing about technicolor is when you call 180099films and get to yell at someone because they screwed up besided that they just suck!!! there is something out there worse than technicolor and that is direct transfers I got a print directly from the theatre in the next town and the heads were all messed up! one reel said reel one but it had a picture on the first frame and the reel 2 head attached to it!!! so I called the theatre and the manager was on his lunchbreak so when I called back I got the manager and he tried to tell me that it wasnt his print I said "IT SAYS CA--T STREET CINEMA RIGHT ON THE CANS!!!!" and he said it was impossible that there print just got picked up and it left inperfect condition he broke it down himself so I said "Yeah they picked it up and they brought it right here!!!" so only after threatening to call the distributor and file a complaint did he finnally admit that it was his screwed-up print and tell me that the reels were in order left to right.... Aaaarrrggghhhh!!!

Tonight I got my print of 'Urban Legends' and three of the five reel bands had labels that said the title of the film was 'Beautiful' The other two reel bands were unmarked, except for a reel number. Technicolor Strikes Again!
