I was wondering if anybody here books films on their own or uses a booker. If so,what are your experiences with it? (good, bad, ugly, etc) I was thinking about trying to book my own if I get my own place, but then again,a booker might be a good asset too.

Thoughts, comments?

Thanks,
Chris

I use a booker now. We've been open for a couple of months now and it's going fairly well. I figure that eventually i'll start doing booking on my own after I get used to being in the biz.

Bookers can be good... espicially when you first start up. They take some major headaches off you. They generally know people at the film companies and can get you decent films and lower advances then you might be able to do on your own when you first open.

I agree with Chris comments. We use a great booker out of LA, Doug Endicott at Exhibitor Support Partnership. By the way, shouldn't this be in the ground level forum?
