Which is the best?

Does the SLC come in a 'lamphouse only' version without the base? (i.e.: to attach onto the back of the machine without support?)

Quality wise I believe they are identical, so it would be personal preference. Personally, I like the two piece design. I thought I had a picture of one floating around, but alas I do not.

My 2nd choice would be Cinemecannica's Xenith 4000-H, as was used at GCC Northpark West.
