Is anyone here aware of which theatres will be presenting "Dinosaur" in DLP? So far, I'm only aware of four: the El Capitan (LA), GCC Framingham 15 (MA), and two screens at the Empire Theatre in NYC. Are there others?

Cinemark Legacy - 24
Plano. TX.
20 miles north of Dallas.

I watched part of it last night. It was nice to just stop it and set index back to 0 and it was ready for another show.

Paul:

Are the "Dinosaur" data files still being handled as discussed previously on this Forum? I recall it was multiple DVDs loaded onto the Q-Bit unit? Or do they now use a computer having the necessary hard drive(s) capacity to deliver the data? What trailers are in the presentation?

It took 9 DVD's for feature and 1 for trailers.

Yes, we had feed the QuBit player each disk as it asked for it. It took about 4-5 hours to do this (copying, index and mirroring). TI Tech came in next day and finished the setup.

Trailers: (that I can remember)
Titan AE
* Rocky And Bullwinkle
102 Dalmations
The Kid (Also Disney, what a coincidence)

I had a discussion with TI about letting the theatre doing the whole loading, trailer selection, etc bit and they are looking at how this can be done.

Also, I don't think that we are going to have a backup "FILM" print but again don't know. We are already going to have 4 screens dedicated to Dinosaurs.

One last thing. A bigger standee than last time. "See a Movie, not the film".

Paul.

H'mmm, let's see. 4-5 hours of loading a film off of DVDs or one hour building up a 35mm print carefully.

No I have it. 2 hours to convert the worst 35/70 projector over to 70mm and an hour to build up the print.

I'm glad I watched Walking With Dinosaurs on the Discovery Channel.

Ian, That was total time, but at least while the disks are loading, there are other things that can be done at the same time.

Paul.
