Hello Gordon,

It sounds to me that your "B" drive has a problem. You should get a drive upgrade kit and replace the drives. You'll have to do all three.

Why all three??? All drives must be the same manuf. and speed. We only use TEAC drives now, they are very reliable, robust, and conform to our tight performance specs. Along with the drives you will receive new SCSI and ROM boards. These are necessary to interface the TEAC drives to the player. You'll also get new TCR firmware.

If you already have TEAC drives (units made within a year), then its a warranty replacement of just the bad drive. We've been shipping TEAC 32x since Jan99.

Please call your local dealer for a price on the upgrade kit (P#: E209 = 3-drive unit). Its cheaper getting the kit from a dealer.

Thanks, Karen at DTS
