Recieved the new copy of Kodak's "Cinema Notes" (the former "Film Notes for Reel People"). The new format is interesting, but I notice something rather curious...

The article on the Christie Reference console had a statement that 2,000 kilowatts (!) of xenon lamp power could light a cigarette and 4,000 kilowatts could melt aluminum. (Yes, kilowatts.) If a lamp that big could be made, 2,000K could set a cigarette factory on fire, and 4000K could level a parking lot full of cars!

I feel sorry for the film!
